Im stuffed

Feeling sick, being vegetarian when I eat some bacon I feel unwell for days, but I had to eat them. Oh the commitment.

Trying out different images in different ways, still got 2 to do but today I actually can't think about another sandwich or I will whitey. 


First image here is Murdo, a bagel loaded with ham, chicken, bacon, cheese, tomato, mayo and gherkin at the side. It's one of those that I make when I come home drunk and put everything that I find in the fridge on it. Bagel is my favourite bread - but the whole thing is just way too much, although it's amazing at the time. The amount of variety of filling here just can't be good for me. 

 Second image is Darren, a white bread sandwich with butter and jam with crusts cut off. A very childish combination that is way too boring and quick to eat for me. It is although very attractive with the fruitiness and the colour. But I just hate white bread it's so clingy and sticks to the top of your mouth. 

 Third is Jed, A BLT ciabatta. A BLT for me is something that looks really good but when I have it I regret it instantly. Ciabatta is quite a chubby bread. For some reason I keep forgetting that I don't like the BLT filling but it's attractive looks make me keep going back. Ive had a 'BLT' 4 times over the past 5 years and regretted it every time because it actually belongs to someone else. 

 Fourth image is Callum, a brown bread sandwich with tuna mayo and cucumber. For years I was in love with this sandwich but I have been put off it and it now makes me cringe. I will never get to have tuna mayo again because it absolutely hates me for the fact I chose other fillings.

 Fifth is Dean, a cheese and pesto croissant, which to start off with I thought was the kind of filling that I would never go for but now that I've had a taste of it I can't get enough. Even though I'm lactose intolerant I sacrifice that for that amazing taste. The lactose intolerance reflects the fact that he is my work colleague and you don't shit where you eat. Croissant because who doesn't love a croissant? And he is literally every girls type - tall and dark. 



Same idea, different images and different order just to experiment.

Now that I am looking at this work again after a while, I guess it would be considered a 'winter depression' when things are bad in winter, they are really bad and this work proves that for me. I handed this in late, my description for it was - "the reason I didn't go to art school for weeks" Which basically was drug abuse and feeling sorry for myself for it.  Now I'll go into a bit more detail about it. I basically skived the whole duration of this project titled "body" and instead I sat in my room for weeks doing drugs and drinking. Jam and cheese. These are some experiments of how I would display the sandwiches on my bed sheets. I ditched the plate as it was just in the way - it took attention away from the subject and deleted the intention of the idea. I quite like the idea of the sandwiches being laid out on bed sheets and making a mess. When having sex you don't tend to put down cling film on your bed to protect it - and sex can be messy.  I am much more keen on the portrait images, it indicates that it is people that are described. I love how filthy the 3rd image looks, with the spreadable cheddar falling out at the side, although the composition in the last 3 images are the winning ones for me.
